Startup Europe Week was first organized in 2016 simultaneously in different EU cities. It aims to highlight the tools, support and resources available to entrepreneurs at local and regional level, as well as good practices and regional policies that shape Europe’s entepreneurial environment. In 2017, there were over 280 co-organizers who held hundreds of events in more than 40 countries across Europe.
In 2018, # SEW18 took place between March 5-9, with more than 300 events. SEW now participates in 50 countries and extends beyond Europe to include Africa, Middle East and Latin America.
INNOVact Business Consultants, as an official member of the Startup Europe Week network, organized the first Startup Erope Week event in Ioannina on March 9, 2018, at the Cultural Squadron “Dimitris Hatzis” (Palaia Sfageia).
Startup Europe Week 2018 Ioannina revolved around five key themes: Opportunities and areas of innovation in the Greek entepreneurial environment, Funding opportunities, Entrepreneurship support structures, Marketing as a differentiation factor, Successful startups.
The event was attended by representatives of local institutions, academic institutions, social organizations, as well as successful entrepreneurs, startuppers, scientists, investors, incubator’s representatives and Venture Capitals as well as business consultants. The event was welcomed by the President of the Chamber of Ioannina, Ioannis Mitsis, and the Deputy Mayor of Education, Social Policy, Youth, Sports and Volunteerism of the Municipality of Ioannina, Pantelis Kolokas.
